Among the causes of pain in the lower back, we can find sacroiliitis, or sacroiliitis, which consists of inflammation of the sacroiliac joint. The discomfort caused by this pathology can be disabling, so its diagnosis and treatment is very important.
Next, we will delve into What is sacroiliitis, what are its symptoms and how to treat it.
What is sacroiliitis?
Sacroiliitis is inflammation of the sacroiliac joint, located in the lower part of the spine, which causes pain in the lumbar spine.
The sacroiliac joint connects the spinal column to the pelvis through ligaments. There are two sacroiliac joints: to the right and to the left of the sacrum.
Sacroiliitis causes pain in the lower back, which can radiate to the buttocks and, in some cases, to the legs. This condition is often confused with other pathologies of the lumbar spine, so it is essential to see a spine specialist to obtain an accurate diagnosis as quickly as possible.
Symptoms of sacroiliitis
The most obvious symptom of sacroiliitis is a pain in the sacroiliac joint, that is characterized by:
- It usually affects only one side of the joint or, if it occurs on both, the pain is more intense on one of them.
- It can radiate to the buttocks and legs.
- It increases when walking, climbing stairs, running or standing for a long time.
- The pain may be more severe at night or first thing in the morning, but usually improves throughout the day with movement.
What is the difference between sacroiliitis and common low back pain?
The main differentiating factor is that sacroiliitis affects the sacroiliac joint, whereas low back pain usually involves muscles or intervertebral discs.
Furthermore, the pain of sacroiliitis is more intense and is usually located in the pelvis or buttocks, and often worsens when walking or standing for long periods of time.
As we will see later, low back pain is relieved with rest, whereas sacroiliitis usually improves with gentle movement.
Causes of sacroiliitis
sacroiliitis occurs due to biomechanical imbalances affecting the ligaments of the sacroiliac joint, which causes inflammation.
Factors such as repeated microtrauma, obesity or incorrect posture can cause sacroiliitis, as well as spinal arthritis.
Other causes of sacroiliitis could include weakness in the abdominal or gluteal muscles, a shortened psoas, injuries, infections, pregnancy, or even stress.
Sacroiliitis and pregnancy
He pregnancy can cause sacroiliitis, since hormones are produced that make the sacroiliac joint more flexible, in order to facilitate childbirth.
As a consequence, this joint loses stability and the back muscles increase tone to compensate for this imbalance. All of this can cause inflammation of the sacroiliac joint.
Sacroiliitis and visceral dysfunctions
An organ that does not function properly can also lead to sacroiliitis., since imbalances occur in the musculoskeletal system. A poor diet or a high level of stress maintained over time can facilitate the appearance of sacroiliitis.
Diagnosis of sacroiliitis
Given that the low back pain can have various causes, it is crucial to go to a specialist doctor to obtain an accurate diagnosis.
What tests are most effective for diagnosing sacroiliitis?
The diagnosis of sacroiliitis is based on a physical examination and the support of other complementary tests, such as X-rays or MRI, the latter being the most sensitive for detecting inflammation in its early stages. The FABER test or Patrick maneuver is a procedure that helps locate sacroiliac pain during a medical consultation.
Because it can be confused with other conditions affecting the same area, diagnosing sacroiliitis can be challenging.
In some cases, the healthcare professional may need anesthesia injections into the lower back to confirm the diagnosis of sacroiliitis.
What makes sacroiliitis worse?
Sacroiliitis can worsen due to various factors that increase inflammation and discomfort in the sacroiliac joint. Factors that may contribute to worsening symptoms and increased discomfort of sacroiliitis include strenuous physical activities that put pressure on the joint, maintaining incorrect posture for prolonged periods, being overweight or obese that increases the load on the joints, trauma Repetitive pain in the lower back, infections that increase inflammation, and physical or emotional stress that contributes to the body's inflammatory response.
How is sacroiliitis treated?
Initial treatment for sacroiliitis is conservative and may include physical therapy, the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, and the use of belts to properly align the pelvis.
If the discomfort persists, the doctor may suggest the injection of anesthetics or corticosteroids. In extreme cases in which improvement is not achieved, the surgery for sacroiliitis may be an option.
How long does sacroiliitis last and when is it considered chronic?
Acute sacroiliitis can last from a few weeks to 3 months, after which it is considered chronic.
Starting treatment on time and receiving ongoing physical therapy sessions will prevent complications and inflammatory causes such as ankylosing spondylitis. In chronic cases, treatment is based on controlling inflammation and ensuring the patient's life is as comfortable as possible.
Exercises for sacroiliitis
Performing exercises can help relieve discomfort and improve mobility in patients with sacroiliitis. Some recommended exercises include:
- Lower back stretches: gentle stretching exercises that help relax the lower back muscles and improve spinal flexibility. An effective example of a stretch is the well-known “cat-cow” stretch, which is performed by alternating between arching your back upward and then relaxing it downward while on all fours.
- Strengthening abdominal and lumbar muscles: Exercises that strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and lower back can help stabilize the pelvis and reduce pressure on the sacroiliac joint. A recommended exercise is the plank, which consists of keeping the body in a straight position from the shoulders to the feet, relying on the forearms and toes.
- Stability and balance exercises: Exercises that improve stability and balance, such as yoga or Pilates, can strengthen the muscles around the sacroiliac joint and improve posture.
- Swimming: Low-impact exercises can help strengthen muscles and improve mobility without putting extra pressure on the affected joint.
It is important to consult with a doctor or physical therapist before beginning exercises for sacroiliitis to ensure they are appropriate and avoid possible injuries.
What is the operation for sacroiliitis?
The spine endoscopy It is a highly effective surgical technique to treat sacroiliitis.
Advanced spinal endoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery in which, through a skin incision of just two millimeters, an endoscopic camera with high-definition optics connected to a high-resolution screen is inserted. From here the surgery team observes and treats the inflamed tissues.
Advantages of spinal endoscopy for sacroiliitis
Spinal endoscopy offers a number of significant benefits for the treatment of sacroiliitis:
- Fast recovery: Endoscopic surgery is characterized by a faster recovery compared to conventional surgery.
- Shorter hospitalization time: Patients generally do not require hospitalization and can be discharged in less than 24 hours.
- Immediate pain relief: Patients usually experience immediate pain relief after the procedure.
- Lower risk of complications: Spinal endoscopy significantly reduces the risk of complications and postoperative infections due to its minimally invasive approach.

I have sacroiliitis through a CT scan two years ago. I was diagnosed with it but they have not treated it and it is getting worse. Thanks for the clarification, it has been a great help to clarify my idea.
Good morning, Pepe.
Thank you very much for your comment on our blog, we are extremely sorry for your situation. To do this, at ICAC we recommend that you make an appointment with our team of traumatologists experts in spine surgery, for a more complete diagnosis of the pathology. My rheumatologist tells me that I have this disease and psoriatic arthritis, but my tests don't show anything.
Good morning Jacqueline,
We cannot offer you a diagnosis without first performing the necessary medical studies. Therefore, we recommend that you request an appointment with our Madrid traumatologists.
All the best.
The same thing happens to me... it does not appear on the MRI or x-rays but my condition continues and is getting worse.
For a sure diagnosis it is necessary to perform a scintigraphy. The MRI and X-rays did not detect it for me. The diagnosis is complicated and long. An infiltration into the sacroiliac joint guided by the scanner solved the problem after months….
How are you? And have you been given treatment?
I'm the same as you, all my exams are ok but the pain and discomfort is there all the time, the worst thing is knowing that there are those who think I'm making it up.
Hello, I am Vero Alvirde and I have been diagnosed with bilateral sacroiliitis with fibromyalgia in the hip and pain in the psoas.

Good afternoon!! Look. 4 years ago I had surgery for a L5S1 herniated disc!! After 4 years I have the same symptoms again... a new MRI and they tell me I have a L4-L5 disc protrusion. L5S1 with pinching at the emerging S1 root... I also have bone edema on both sides, more evident on the left!!! Can you tell me what I can do?
Hello Javier,
After herniated disk surgery, new symptoms may appear over time due to changes in the spine, such as the bulging and pinching you mentioned. Bone edema may also be related to inflammation or overuse of the area.

Hello, I don't know who I can help but I hope it is useful. I have been dealing with sacroeilitis for 1 year and I have tried everything (chiropractic, kinesiology, massages, celecoxib, anti-inflammatory patches) and I still don't know the origin, neither do my doctors. The only thing that has helped me reduce inflammation in the area and not have pain is SWIMMING, practicing swimming or hydrogymnastics/aquagym. I go once a week and I love it. From time to time it gives me some discomfort if I sit or stand for a long time, but the effect on the body is incredible.
Thank you very much Maria for your note. A hug!
Hello, I live in Cabo San Lucas and I have this same problem or this medical diagnosis here in Cabo Ay Aguas Termales and that helps me a lot. Greetings

Hello Maria ..
Thank you for your comments, I have just been diagnosed with a lumbar sacroiliac joint...the specialist recommended a block...I don't know what to do but the pain is already unbearable with medication...I don't know if I should go swimming...I'm afraid it will get worse...I don't know if I should go to the physiotherapist either. …I have many doubts
Bonjour Gustave,
Bref, do not wait until all problems have a solution. Bon courage à toi et n'ai pas peur de la piscine, c'est un de mes plus grand soulagement.
Hello Gustavo!
My name is Martha, I am from the Dominican Republic. I had a bilateral block in NY, a week apart, and I am a different person. I still have discomfort, but it is minimal and occasional. Keep in mind that the last block was 6 days ago. Before that, I was hospitalized in Santo Domingo and not even opioids could take away the pain. I cried day and night. I almost fainted from the pain, so, so much. I will soon start physical therapy. I hope my comment is useful to you.
Warm greetings.
My sacrum hurts and I have the symptoms that explain it at first. I'm 49 years old . Is the only treatment surgery?
Hello Rocio,
The initial treatment for sacroiliitis is conservative: based on physical therapy, the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and belts that help correctly align the pelvis.
If the discomfort persists, the doctor may suggest the injection of anesthetics or corticosteroids. Ultimately, if none of the above works, it is possible to opt for surgery.
It is best that you approach a specialist who can evaluate the severity of your case.
Greetings
Good night. Desfe Pananá, I am 63 years old and for a long time, approximately 10 years, I have been suffering from those horrible pains in the lower part of the spine in both sides of the pelvis. I am a glaucoma patient and allergic to NSAIDs. I recently had a magnetic resonance imaging performed and that was the diagnosis of the treating neurologist. I am in the first phase of physiotherapy and injections on my own and do not place lidocaine patches due to the unbearable nature of the crises. Question: where or how do you get the belt to align the pelvis? And if the next step is to filter?? I am afraid of the impossibility of movement (walking for example). I don't want a wheelchair or anything like that.
Hello Gabriela,
We would need to evaluate your case to diagnose you. We don't know what exactly you have so we can tell you how to treat it.
Greetings.

Hello! Greetings from CD Guatemala. 5 years ago I had L3-L5 lumbar fusion; I had relief for only 3 months. Physiotherapy, Enantyum Plus, Lyrixa, etc. and nothing. I went from lumbosacral pain to now, 2 months ago, a pain like muscle tears in my thighs that makes it very painful to even walk. I have thought about CT-guided infiltration. The pelvis specialist 3 years ago indicated placement of 6 percutaneous screws and now, better not. That Radio Frequency. What do you advise me? I don't know whether to spend that much for a year's relief or whether it's advisable to put the screws in. I'm scared and I don't know what decision to make. I am 62 years old. I will travel to Spain in 2023. Greetings!!

Hi, a month ago I started having pain in my left buttock, pelvic and then knee… My buttock even felt tight when I walked. In the most painful phase, even my thigh and calf feel stiff. The pain is activated when I walk a little. Doloneurobion XR calms me quite a bit. I have to mention that I found the uric acid at 8.2, and the doctor is still not clear about the diagnosis. I am suspecting sacroiliitis as I have been experiencing more pain in my pelvis. I would love to have an opinion, I am in very bad pain and I am desperate.
Hello Ivan,
In your case, it is best to consult with a traumatology specialist to diagnose your case. You can contact our expert traumatologists at the following link: https://columna.com/contacto/

Hello, good afternoon. I had two examinations, one of the spine and the other of the pelvis, and in the pelvis, the diagnostic impression says examination without evidence to suggest the presence of sacroelitis, but I do have discomfort in my right leg as the muscles have been pulled together, I do not have lower back pain when It seemed like tension when I had the MRI after being without movement for about 40 minutes.
Good afternoon Elizabeth,
Thanks for your comment. After your diagnosis, we recommend that you follow the instructions of a traumatology specialist, who will be able to determine the best treatment for your pathology. Do not hesitate to contact our spinal traumatologists in the link provided.

Hello, I had surgery in March of this year for a L5-S1 spondylolisthesis. Since the operation, I have been terrible with a lot of pain in the lumbosacral area, buttocks, legs, even the left pelvic-inguinal area, I can't turn around in bed, it hurts. when walking, coughing, sneezing... It's not living, I've already had MRIs, electromyography, and even a CT scan, and they don't see anything wrong with the spine. The only thing they tell me is that the nerves may have been under tension when the vertebra was placed, something that I doubt since the change has been minimal and all my symptoms seem very similar to sacrolitis, my question is, if this could have been caused by the instrumentation and the screws that have been placed in me and if removing them can symptoms disappear, the traumatologist gives me the last option to remove the screws after doing a CT scan to see if there is good fusion
So my question is, as I have told you before, yes, removing these screws can eliminate this symptom and if this instrumentation could be causing me all these pains.
Thank you
Good morning, José Antonio.

Good morning, I'm Eliza from Medellín. I've been suffering from pain for a long time in that area of the body where the sacrum joins the right femur. The pain sometimes makes me very uncomfortable walking. I went to the general doctor and by palpation or auscultation he said it was Sacroiliitis only in the right area but he did not send me studies and exams to confirm the diagnosis. You do it and what the procedure would be like.
Thank you
Hello Eliza,
There are multiple tests to confirm and diagnose sacroiliitis in case that is the pathology. In which case the necessary imaging tests may vary, from resonance and radiological studies, to analytical tests.
A hug.

How long can I take inflammatory medications if my sracroiliac is chronic?
Hello Manuel,
It will depend on the pain and pathology you have, such as hypertension/diabetes, you will have to change the NSAIDs and analgesics to avoid tolerance.
A hug.

I had surgery for two fractures, the pelvis where they put two titanium plates and two screws in the left iliac bone attached to the sacrum bone, from the opera for about 38 days, the sacrum bone has been inflamed for quite some time, of course, not before I felt it because I had no sensitivity, now that I have it I feel the discomfort. Is it normal for it to be inflamed?
Hi Carlos,
It would be necessary to explore it to determine the origin of the inflammation and pain, as well as review the images and see what we have inside.
All the best.
Hello, a cordial greeting. I have had lower back pain for almost a month now, in my right hip, very strong sacral pain when I walk long distances, when I stand and sit for a long time, it has even affected my posture when sleeping (I sleep on my back, pillows on the sides and on the feet to elevate the legs and arms a little) I am on anti-inflammatory and relaxing medications and I see the process slow. This could be called sacroiliitis? I just had a normal MRI, x-rays and a normal electromyography. Only a doctor diagnoses spondylitis. I feel very worried since the pain worsens when I walk a lot. Could you help me ?
Hello Henna, in this case, in order to help you, we should review all the tests that have been performed on you. If you want to make an appointment with us, we will be happy to analyze all the documentation and explore you in depth. A hug.
Hello, good morning, three months ago my 9-year-old girl was diagnosed with SPONDYLOARTHRITIS through an MRI, which causes severe inflammatory pain in the upper part of her back. Could you please help us on what to do, what treatment to follow to alleviate her pain? illness, the pain is strong, it is even affecting his vision, can you please help us?????
Hello Roberto,
The first thing is to perform complementary studies to determine the underlying rheumatic pathology, if any.
In addition, the degree of wear of the joints, their situation and the degree of local inflammation should be assessed. The quadratus lumborum and the muscles should also be studied to see if there is any myofascial basis for the pain.
All the best.
Good afternoon, I have been diagnosed with bilateral trunkenteritis and bilateral sacroiliitis in addition to bone marrow edema a few months ago...and osteoarthritis of the lumbar spine (almost nothing). My back doesn't hurt my sacral bone, yes... I feel very tired and my legs feel heaviness when walking
I have also been suffering from depression for a year.
I would say fainting that it is difficult for me to move...
I don't know what causes it, depression or the bone diagnosis.
and I'm desperate
Thank you so much
Pending analysis that I had a few days ago due to this excessive general fatigue and legs
Hello Guadalupe, the first thing is the analysis and once you have the results, visit a doctor in person to analyze everything together, okay? All the best.
Good afternoon. I have been diagnosed with Sacroiliitis and ostopenia. The pain I feel when lying down is a lot. What do you recommend please?
Hello Álvaro, we recommend that you go to a spine specialist to help you manage the ailments with a treatment of exercises and medications that will help you relieve the pain.
A hug
I was diagnosed with sacroiliitis among other diseases. My doctor is a chiropractor and general practitioner in Los Angeles, CA. I don't know what it did to me but I don't feel as much pain as before. Besides, my tinnitus is going away. it's getting less and less. He told me that I couldn't sit for more than 45 minutes and that I had to stand with my legs open so as not to feel the pain in my sacrum. But after 48 hours he made all the adjustments…. It almost doesn't hurt! Don't have surgery! Don't even take anti-inflammatory drugs, seek help from a good chiropractor and use natural medicine.
Good morning,
When I get up early, it is very difficult for me to do so, with pain and difficulty in movement, holding on to whatever I can, during the course of the day, better but with slight discomfort.
That is my symptomatology. Thanks greetings
Hello Hilda,
It can have multiple causes, it does not necessarily have to be saciliitis. Your case should be reviewed in consultation to make a diagnosis and define a treatment.
Greetings.

Je suis laissez que 1 mois de repos mais j'ai malheureusement un peu forcé et je me retrouve à avoir constamment une une petite douleur. Do you know what is wrong and if you are going to miss out on your next day or if it is going to leave with repos?

My name is Monica, 5 years ago I had an injury that I felt in my right gluteus, I have had 5 MRIs and 6 blockages in different parts, it is not easy to detect, the doctors have given me different diagnoses, the last two being sacroiliitis, I had stem cell infiltration two weeks ago, but the pain is even worse, and sometimes it extends to the right side of the waist or down to the thigh, I'm desperate, I've had this for so many years and no improvement 😩. I live in Puerto Rico but in November I will be in Madrid, I will try to visit them.
Hello Monica,

Good day
My mother is 84 years old and has pain in the lower part of the spine and sacrum,
What type of treatment can you receive at your age?
Hello Ysabel,
Before indicating a treatment we would have to carry out a review to know where the pain comes from and work on the cause.
In any case, at your age it is advisable to do regular physiotherapy sessions to strengthen flexibility and muscles.
Greetings.

That diagnosis came out in a hip densitometry. I went to several doctors and they gave me tablets that had no effect, nor did physiotherapy. In a few days I will take the results to my traumatologist, to see what she prescribes. For now he gave me Dioxaflex B12. Thank you for your information !!!
I was diagnosed with pain in the sacral iliac. An algologist performed a block on me, I went to him, on the recommendation of my neurosurgeon, this was done approximately nine days ago but the pain persists. I don't know what I should do next.
Hello Jorge,
You should go to a traumatologist and have a follow-up along with a rehabilitation plan.

Good afternoon, I am 68 years old and I am a regular runner. The pain started one day after running in my left gluteus, on the inside, and it got worse when I tried to sprint: I felt a kind of jerk. I feel pain when I am sitting and when I walk quickly in my left leg. I have not run since the end of May, although I have been undergoing treatment with my physiotherapist. However, the pain continues. What do you advise me? Thank you very much.
Hi Arturo,
Some tests should be performed to make a diagnosis.
You can make an appointment at +34 91 005 39 00.

Good afternoon
I have been diagnosed with right sacroiliitis. I am currently undergoing physical therapy sessions and feel a slight improvement when I finish doing the exercises. The problem is that the discomfort returns the next day or generally when I remain in one position for a long time, whether standing or sitting.
I don't know if I should go to the traumatologist again. According to the tests, I have no injuries, fractures or hernias. I have inflammation in the sacral area, in L4 and L5, as well as scoliosis.
Hi Gabi,
I recommend that you consult with your orthopedist again. Although there is temporary improvement, recurring discomfort indicates that it may be necessary to adjust the treatment or explore additional options.
Greetings
I am from Ibagué Tolima... I have sacroiliitis. The neurosurgeon prescribed a blockage but I am afraid of that procedure. What other options are there? The pain is definitely unbearable.
Hello Francy,
I understand your concern. In addition to the block, you may consider physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, steroid injections, or alternative therapies such as acupuncture. Consult with your doctor or a pain specialist to explore these options and determine the best treatment for your sacroiliitis.

Bonjour,
Je crois souffrir du saccro iiaque, savez-vous si il ya des experts pour cela au Québec?
Hello Yasmine,
Nous n'avons pas connaissance de spécialistes au Québec. We hope that you will quickly obtain the sounds that you will not be able to kiss.
Cordialement, je vous prie d'agréer, Monsieur, l'expression de mes sentiments distingués.
Hello. Two months ago I had a fall from a horse, resulting in a severe fracture in the sacrum, S2 and S3, with horizontal and vertical slippage, compromised sacral nerves, cauda equina, and tearing of the lumbar, gluteal and vastus muscles.
This past week my pain has increased. At first I thought some nerves might be awakening, but the sensitivity in my leg has decreased and the pain in my sacrum and also in my buttocks has increased.
I have been more active in walking and perhaps trying to take longer steps. How many miles is it prudent to walk, and how often? Is it counterproductive to try to take the steps I used to take?
Could it have been caused by walking a lot or standing for a long time?
How much longer would it take me to stop moving as a block?
Thank you
Hi Vivian, we are very sorry for what you are going through and understand your concern. Due to the complexity of your case, with severe fractures and nerve involvement, it is essential that a spine specialist or rehabilitation physician evaluate your current situation. Increased pain and decreased sensitivity in your leg can be important signs that should not be ignored, as they could indicate inflammation or other changes related to your recovery.
Regarding your question about walking and physical activity, the number of kilometres and frequency should be indicated by a doctor or a specialist physiotherapist, since it is possible that you have overloaded the affected area. It is crucial that a professional evaluates whether the inflammation or pain is related to excessive effort.
We encourage you to schedule a consultation to receive a personalized assessment and safely adjust your recovery plan. If you wish, you can schedule an appointment with our team by calling us at (+34) 91 005 39 00. We will be happy to help you.
Bonjour,
Je suis Caroline de Belgique, j'ai 51 ans.
Une sacroiliite m'a été diagnostiquée l'année dernière par IRM. Aucun treatment ne m'a soulagée (ains, infiltration) mis à part le medrol. The medrol m'a valu 2 bronchopneumonias coup sur coup.
The best way to resolve the problem quickly is if the exercises are not routine. Le stress accentue les douleurs, je viens de perdre ma man et je m'en suis beaucoup occupée, je suis infirmière. Je ne dormt quasi plus la nuit, les douleurs sont insupportables. Do you know a physiotherapist or a specialist who will help me charge in the long term?
Thank you for your progress,
Caroline

Hello everyone, I'm from Girón Santander Colombia, my case is also overwhelming, 5 years ago I had a fall, then at 4 another one I went to the doctor and they told me it was stress but my situation got worse every day more and more so much that it limited me in my daily life, then I went to a chiropractor and the pain is still terrible, then they did coccyx adjustment therapies on me because they thought it was that and nothing, then they did acupuncture on me and nothing, the traumatologist wrote me tickets in his office and nothing, he sent me to a spine surgeon and he sent me some sedative therapies with electrical devices and massagers that reduce inflammation and the truth is that I've already had 5 sessions and the improvement is a little, they send me to a pain clinic, I've had this pathology and treatments for 8 months now and my life gets worse every day, I'm 35 years old and I'm thin, anti-inflammatories don't do anything for me anymore. This pain is robbing me of peace and tranquility. My daughter needs me to play with her and I can no longer do it because the pain is very, very limiting. A big hug from the heart to all of us who struggle with this pathology.

Hello. I'm from Mexico.
Has anyone with bilateral sacroiliitis experienced knee pain? I'm 39 years old, with two daughters, ages 5 years and 8 months. I feel like I have old lady knees. It's true that I lost the baby weight too early and may have lost muscle, but my knees hurt more than ever. After my pregnancy, this knee pain worsened, which I notice most when going up and down stairs. An MRI showed bilateral sacroiliitis. I was being diagnosed with spondyloarthritis, but another rheumatologist later told me it was just joint hypermobility and that my sacroiliitis stemmed from the pregnancy. I started feeling fatigue and groin pain before the pregnancy. (I have my doubts about when the sacroiliitis started, although the sacral pain was intense throughout the pregnancy.) I'm currently undergoing postural physical therapy, and my spine pain has improved. Could bilateral sacroiliitis be cured with physical therapy alone?
Hello Sary,
Thank you for sharing your experience. Bilateral sacroiliitis can cause discomfort not limited to the sacral region but can extend to areas such as the hips, groin, or even the knees, due to postural compensations or alterations in body biomechanics. The physical strain of pregnancy and caring for your daughters can also influence these symptoms.
Postural physiotherapy, when properly managed, can be a very useful tool for relieving pain and improving stability, especially in cases of joint hypermobility. However, to assess whether this approach is sufficient as a long-term treatment, a specialist will need to review your progress and the tests performed, especially if symptoms persist or interfere with your daily life.
Greetings.
Hello, I'm MiLagros.
I have an L5S1 hernia.
But the burning pains in my lower back don't stop and prevent me from living a normal life.
The worst part is when I'm sleeping or sitting, since that's when I hold the posture the longest.
The trauma says the hernia is not suitable for surgery.
They think you're exaggerating the pain.
I have trochanteritis in both hips.
Pyramidal syndrome
Spring hip
My time with physics is continuous.
They relax me or take away something but the main pain does not go away.
The heat calms me
In fact, this summer with 40 degrees and me with my entourage of seeds in the lumbar
I do everything they tell me
Yoga, swimming and walking because now it doesn't let me
But they don't look at me that it could be anything other than a hernia.
Total garlic and water
I'm desperate
My question is:
Does Botox injection relax the muscles and how long does it last?
Hello Milagros,
We're so sorry you're going through so much pain. Each case is unique, and both treatment and outcome depend on many individual factors.
Botulinum toxin injections can generally be used in some specific cases to relax deep muscles. Its effects typically last between three and six months, although this may vary from person to person. However, a proper evaluation is essential to determine if it's truly an appropriate option for you.
In order to give you an accurate assessment, our team will need to review your case and any studies you have.
Greetings.
