What is the mobile lumbar disc prosthesis?
The mobile lumbar prosthesis is a surgery in which the intervertebral disc is replaced by a mobile disc.
This surgery is carried out through an approach of about 10cm through the anterior or antero-lateral route of the abdomen. In this way, damage to the posterior muscles and joints of the back is avoided.
Lumbar prostheses consist of two parts, the first serves to anchor it to the bone of the vertebrae and the second carries out the movement of the prosthesis.
