Caso clínico estenosis de dos niveles: L4L5 listesis, L5S1 quiste

Clinical case

L5S1 herniated disc removed by advanced spinal endoscopy

On this occasion, we found spinal surgery on a 33-year-old patient who came to the consultation with right sciatica, with persistent pain that extended to the sole of the foot and made daily activities considerably difficult.

Preoperative

After a complete medical study, both at a radiological and clinical level, a problem of a mechanical nature is observed, so conservative medical treatment is ruled out and an intervention is chosen.

The patient's pain comes from a cervical hernia, which will have to be located and removed using minimally invasive endoscopy.

Operation

The intervention will cost from several parts:

  1. Location and opening of the yellow ligament, which will allow better vision at the nervous level.
  2.  Perineural cleaning to identify the damaged nerve
  3. Nerve root mobilization.
  4. Location and removal of the hernia.

The hernia, of considerable size, is removed with a posterior interlaminar approach, through an incision of only 3mm

Postoperative

After an intervention of about 35 minutes, the patient is awake and completely recovered, no longer noticing the pain he suffered when entering the operating room.

Recovery will be complete and quick, and you will be able to leave the clinic about two hours after the operation, without compressors or body immobilization.
