Clinical case

Clinical case: compressive left L5S1 disc herniation

In this clinical case, the patient suffers from a left disc herniation at the L5S1 level. The ICAC team will treat her using minimally invasive spinal endoscopy.

Preoperative

The patient comes to our center because he has a herniated disc between the fifth lumbar vertebra and the sacrum. The symptoms he presented are pain, irritability and discomfort and cramps in his leg, making it difficult for him to walk continuously.

Our patient previously underwent radiological studies and medical rehabilitation, but the results were not as expected, so the patient underwent medical tests again and the experts determined the presence of a hernia.

Operation

Prof. Dr. Elegeadi's team performs the surgery on the patient through a minimal incision in the skin of 2-3 millimeters, so that the affected area can be accessed.

In the diagnosis it is observed that the hernia is compressive and through minimally invasive surgery the patient's tissues are not damaged.
