Clinical case
Complex cervical prosthesis
After a lumbar arthrodesis Not effective, the patient goes to Dr. Elgeadi's office with severe pain in the cervical area caused by pseudoarthrosis.
Preoperative
The patient is a bit complex, having previously operated on with another team of doctors. They perform surgery between the 6th and 7th cervical vertebra, with an attempt at arthrodesis.
This surgery is ultimately insufficient for the condition, since they have not achieved the fusion sought with said treatment.
As a result of this malfunction, the patient enters the phase of pseudoarthrosis, which causes a great deal of pain as there is slight mobility in said piece.
Operation
After several years of treatment and rehabilitation therapies, the patient's pain becomes unbearable and, therefore, he decides to have surgery.
The interbody implant is removed and, after a complete cleaning of the 'terrain', both the intercervical part and the canal, A mobile cervical prosthesis is implanted.
Postoperative
The patient leaves the operating room with complete mobility of the neck and the only recommendation is not to gain weight during the first phase of recovery to avoid possible injuries in the area.
After spending the night in the hospital, the patient will be discharged and will only have to return for future check-ups and consultations.
