Caso clínico Hernia discal L5S1 con paciente que aqueja ciática

Clinical case

L5S1 hernia sciatica pain

The patient comes to the consultation a year after his last visit, with pain in his left leg, which has intensified and partially paralyzes his foot.

Preoperative

The 40-year-old patient, who visited Dr. Elegeadi's office a year ago, suffers from chronic pain (sciatica) in his left leg.

At that time, rest, taking anti-inflammatory drugs and physiotherapy rehabilitation are recommended for recovery and the treatment works correctly.

A year later, the pain has worsened and has spread to the foot, limiting activities such as walking, strength in the leg...

Operation

The small hernia found last year has worsened and is putting pressure on the nerve and needs to be removed before the symptoms worsen.

Has been used a minimally invasive technique, in which the muscles and bones do not suffer and the patient suffers minimal scarring, while allowing a clean and simple approach to the hernia.

The hernia will be removed using minimally invasive endoscopy, in a surgery that will last around 20 minutes and after which the patient will recover quickly.
