Caso clínico de prótesis cervical doble con éxito

Clinical case

Double cervical prosthesis

In this clinical case we are faced with a patient who comes to our office with acute pain in her left arm and a very positive tinel.

We tried to treat the patient with medication, physiotherapy treatment, but unfortunately we were not able to eliminate the pain.

Preoperative

After our medical study, the examination and the MRI study, we found that he had a fairly large hernia inserted in one of the foramina (hole through which the nerves exit to the arms from the neck), causing quite severe irritation and very annoying pain. .

After studying and presenting her case in a clinical session, we decided to operate on the patient to eliminate her pain permanently.

Operation

During the operation we replaced that disc that was herniated and did not work, with a healthy and mobile disc using a minimally invasive surgery.

Fortunately, we did the replacements satisfactorily, removing the hernia, freeing the root and finally managing to implant two discs since he had another hernia that was beginning to cause some problems.

After about 4 hours of intervention, the arm and neck pain has practically disappeared completely. The results of this type of prosthesis are functional, immediate, and pain relief is completely achieved. These surgeries are very suitable and safe for patients who have herniated discs or acute neurological compressions.

Postoperative

Currently the patient is without important medication hours after the intervention. He only took paracetamol and some basic analgesic medication. In this way, the patient was able to be discharged.

After a few days of rest, the patient could now perform neck movements in a normal and habitual manner. You should not exert yourself the first few days, but your mobility will be normal and you will be able to lead a relatively quiet life perfectly and without any problems.
