Clinical case
Clinical case: L4L5 recurrence
After a spinal operation, the patient presented a whitish mass that was decided to be removed using an advanced spinal endoscopy technique.
Preoperative
In this case, the patient has already undergone surgery on L4L5, after a period of improvement, she has begun to present more generic symptoms: pain in the legs, discomfort in the buttocks, etc.
After undergoing a clinical study, a whitish mass with a soft composition is observed that may be irritating the neurological structures. It was decided to proceed to remove the mass using an endoscopic technique.
Operation
During the intervention, it is observed that the mass occupies the space between the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae. It may be compressing and irritating the neurological structures of the lumbar canal, since it occupies the central part of the canal. It is fibrous material, scar and disc material, which produced adhesion with the neurological tissues.
