Clinical case
Lumbar disc herniation between the 4th and 5th vertebra with caudal migration
In this case, Doctor Elgeadi is in charge of the treatment, with a minimally invasive endoscopy technique, of locating and extracting a lumbar hernia located between the 4th and 5th vertebra.
Preoperative
In the MRI performed, a caudal release by the hernia will be seen, which compresses the passing roots. Wear is also detected in a worn L5S1 disc, but it does not contain any herniation that could compromise the tissue.
Operation
The intervention will cost from several parts:
- Opening of the yellow ligament to expose neurological tissue.
Mobilization of the neurological structures to access the hernia through the gap in the yellow ligament.
Location and extraction of the hernia, progressively to avoid possible damage to the affected nerves.
Postoperative
Recovery will be complete and quick, and you will be able to leave the clinic about two hours after the operation, without compressors or body immobilization.
